How we verify agencies
PropertyZoom uses layered checks before an agency can present itself as verified. Verification reduces risk but is not a guarantee of every listing or transaction.
Identity and business checks
- Named representative and business contact verification.
- Company identity and trading-name checks against available public records.
- Business website, domain email, telephone and office details reviewed for consistency.
- Relevant redress scheme, regulatory or professional membership details requested where applicable.
Listing and conduct review
We may review listing provenance, material-information completeness, image authenticity, complaint history and unusual activity. Agencies may be asked for additional evidence.
Ongoing monitoring
Verification is not a one-off badge. PropertyZoom may suspend publishing, remove a badge, request reverification or close access where information cannot be confirmed or conduct creates risk.
What users should still do
Confirm the agent’s identity independently, never transfer funds solely because a profile is marked verified, and ask your solicitor or regulated adviser to complete the checks required for your transaction.
